Extra Long Vintage Hawaiian Style Navy and Tan Stripe Necktie by Damon

When I pulled this one out I wondered why I’d never seen Daddy wear this tie. Then when I measured I realized why; it’s an extra long! It’s a full 65 inches long! The last time I saw Daddy wear and extra long tie he had to do a Windsor and a Half Knot, but I digress…

This extra long tie was made by Damon for The Hub Ltd. (With a few locations in the North Carolina area. They’re still around by the way!) It’s a wide navy and tan stripe with a large tan floral stripe between the colors. It’s almost like a muted Hawaiian pattern.

It was an expensive tie back in the day, and it still sports the $7.50 price tag on the small end. Of course the little tag says its “imported texturized polyester” but the tag next to the Damon tag says “all silk”. Talk about confusion! It’s this pup’s professional opinion that it’s polyester though. There are no stains or pulls on the tie. It’s a super long 65 inches, which almost offsets the 4 inch width.

If this tie makes your tail wag like it did mine, you can get it over at my tie club on Etsy!

Vintage Brown and Tan Abstract 1930s Swing Tie

Sometimes digging through Daddy’s closet really pays off! Like this vintage swing tie I found hidden way in the back! It’s a swanky brown tie with a n abstract pattern of three tan and orange polka dotted rays on it. The tie fabric is a plaid textured silk, so if you like abstract, plain, or polka dotted ties, this one fits the bill!

The tie is from Henry Morgan & Co in Montreal, Canada. The only other tie I could find online from that department store was one from Harry Truman’s personal collection. This one may not have quite the same provenance, but it’s still neat in my book.

The tie is 52 inches long and about 3 1/2 inches wide. There are no pulls or holes on the tie, and the tie’s lining is yellowed and lightly stained from years of use, but there were no stains that I could sniff out.

If you like it, it’s available at my Etsy store: Rusty’s Tie Club

Awesome 60’s Retro Brown and Gold Necktie from Sage-Allen

This necktie certainly has a lot going on! There’s patterned stripes and a textured background with thin stripes going in the opposite direction. On top of that there are light green highlights in the stripes. It’s a lot to take in, but that’s why I like it! Daddy always said if you wear a tie, you should make a statement with it.

The tie is from the Sage-Allen Men’s Store, which was up in the Hartford, Connecticut area for 104 years before finally closing their doors in 1993. It’s 56 inches long and 3 1/4 inches wide and has no pulls or stains on it. It feels like polyester. The tag is loose on one side, but you’re welcome to tack it back on (I still can’t tread the needle with my paws!)

If you like it, it’s availableĀ at my Etsy Shop: Rusty’s Tie Club

Vintage Striped Countess Mara

Daddy seems to always go for his striped Countess Mara ties when he’s not sure what to wear. This time it’s a brown, tan, and deep navy striped tie from Eddie Williams Man’s Shop in Arlington, Texas. The tie may date back to the 50s, but believe it or not, The Man’s Shop is still around!

Vintage Yves Saint Laurent Card Suit Tie

My tail started wagging when I found this gem in Daddy’s closet! It’s a blue tie from Yves Saint Laurent with a pattern of small card suits on it. You know, clubs, spades, diamonds, and of course, hearts… It’s in perfect shape with no tears, holes, or stains on it anywhere. It looks likeĀ it has hardly been worn!

It’s a great tie for the card player in your life. Of course, you don’t have to play cards to appreciate it. In fact, I thought up of a few other things that all the suits could mean for me:

  • Clubs – My Tie Club of course!
  • Spade – I’m a pup, and I support taking care of your furry family.
  • Diamonds – Momma sure likes those!
  • Hearts – My family has big hearts for rescuing me, and I love them with all of my heart!

I have it available over in my Etsy Shop. If you like it you might want to try and get it before Daddy steals it back out of my collection!

Pastel Countess Mara

Daddy wore this dandy of a combination to work today. It’s a pastel striped Countess Mara tie, and he’s paired it with a blue and white striped Cremieux dress shirt with white club collar. I think it looks pretty dandy.

It’s a shame that he won’t leave it on when he takes me out for walkies later…

Vintage Red Patterned Tie

This is a really cool looking red tie with a striped pattern made of an acetone fabric. Daddy paired it up with a cream shirt (with matching red cufflinks of course) and gold toned tie bar. I couldn’t have paired it better myself!

I know some tie aficionados out there cringe at the idea of some of the non-traditional fabrics used in the 40s and 50s for neckties and would rather go with silk or wool depending on the season. Personally, I like some of the more unusual fabrics out there because I think it adds a little bit of history to the tie, as well as some good texture from time to time.

Brooks Brothers Tie of the Month Club

Daddy taught me that sometimes the best tie is a classic tie from a classic maker. Then he told me that he always liked to reach for a Brooks Brothers tie when he needed a classic, undated look. If you’re a fan of the classic gentleman’s look, then you’ll love my Brooks Brothers tie of the month club! Each month I’ll dig through Daddy’s closet and pull out another Brooks Brothers tie to send you. Because I’m such a good pup, I’ll even make sure there’s no coffee stains on them!

Each Month you’ll receive another vintage Brooks Brothers tie. I have all sorts of colors and patterns houses to dig through, so tell me what kind of fashion you like! I’ve pulled stripes and patterns in all sorts of colors out of Daddy’s closet in the past, so who knows what I’ll fetch for you!

  • The first month you’ll receive an introductory letter welcoming you to the club (or as a gift to the club if it’s a gift).
  • Ties are non-returnable, and the subscription may not be cancelled once first shipment is mailed.
  • If you have a special request, let me know and I will do my best to fetch ties meeting those criteria (only blue tones, no stripes, make is a small repeating pattern, etc…) but I can’t promise. Daddy might wear it the day I’m shipping!

Super Skinny Yellow 50s Tie

Here’s one of Daddy’s ties that always seems to make the grade. It’s super skinny (1 3/4 inches!) and seems to go well with any shirt he pulls out of the closet.

Pink 1960s Mallory & Church Neck Tie

Real men (like my Daddy) wear pink. So I think that would make this vintage tie by Mallory & Church a real man’s tie because it’s so pink! It’s a great strong (but not hot) pink with a navy hexagonal pattern in it.

Daddy says that all the ladies in his office love it when he wears ties like this (and Momma does too!) so that’s got to make it a really manly tie!

The tie is 56 inches long and 3 1/2 inches wide and feels like silk (although it’s not marked). The tie is in really great condition!

I have this one available on my Etsy Shop
