Tie Tuesday – Rusty’s Tie Club

The Bow Tie Appears!

It’s time for another Tie Tuesday! Last week Daddy was boring (so boring it wasn’t even worth posting, and I didn’t take a picture of it) This week though Daddy made up for it by breaking out one of his bow ties!

There’s no manufacturer on this one, but I’m going to guess that it’s from the 1960s given the size and pattern. It’s a light blue background with a gold-brown square pattern and some very stylized square flowers. Of course, then he paired it with a light mauve dress shirt to really show off the colors. The black sport coat (not shown here) really made the colors stand out,

Mardi Gras Tie Tuesday

Daddy did say he was going to go bold for Mardi Gras this year, and I think he succeeded in spades! What’s even funnier was that Momma took one look at him, shook her head, and declared that she couldn’t believe he pulled it off.

Today’s tie is a vintage early 1960s Oleg Cassini with an unusual (and loud) patterned stripe on a grey dress shirt. It was chilly out, so he added this vintage houndstooth sport coat to the ensemble. I’ve got to agree with Momma, I can’t believe he made it work.

Red Polka Dotted 50s Skinny

I’ve been a bad pup! Daddy held up his end of the challenge, and then I never posted about it!

He said this time he was going to a 1950s themed event, so he broke out one of his really cool skinny 1950s ties. It’s red with black streaks and cream polka dots. Then he went all sorts of crazy with a soft yellow Pierre Cardin dress shirt (vintage of course) and a tan camel hair sport coat.

The New Year’s 52 Tie Challenge!

I thought I’d start the new year off right with a challenge for my Daddy (and anyone else who wants to try it too)! This year, I’m challenging Daddy to wear a different tie every Tuesday all year. That’s 52 different ties that I’ll be taking pictures of and posting here every week!
