Casual Tie Day

Daddy took Tie Tuesday to a whole different level for the third week of my tie challenge. He went casually crazy and paired up a denim shirt with a red skinny tie from Colours by Alexander Julian.  Talk about casual!

If you like it, I’ve dug it out of Daddy’s closet and put it up for sale on my Etsy Shop.

Large Modern Paisley Silk Tie from Polo by Ralph Lauren

Daddy has a lot of bold and loud ties, and this one ranks right up there with the best of them! It’s a solid red necktie with super large modern paisleys on it. The paisleys have a blue border with a yellow center, and lots of red in the middle! I like to think of it as a power tie for guys who don’t like paisley.

The tie is marked as Polo by Ralph Lauren and is 100% silk and made by hand.

The tie is in wonderful condition with no stains or pulls on it. It’s 57 inches long and 3 1/2 inches wide.

Vintage Red Patterned Tie

This is a really cool looking red tie with a striped pattern made of an acetone fabric. Daddy paired it up with a cream shirt (with matching red cufflinks of course) and gold toned tie bar. I couldn’t have paired it better myself!

I know some tie aficionados out there cringe at the idea of some of the non-traditional fabrics used in the 40s and 50s for neckties and would rather go with silk or wool depending on the season. Personally, I like some of the more unusual fabrics out there because I think it adds a little bit of history to the tie, as well as some good texture from time to time.
