Large Modern Paisley Silk Tie from Polo by Ralph Lauren

IMG_3920

Daddy has a lot of bold and loud ties, and this one ranks right up there with the best of them! It’s a solid red necktie with super large modern paisleys on it. The paisleys have a blue border with a yellow center, and lots of red in the middle! I like to think of it as a power tie for guys who don’t like paisley.

The tie is marked as Polo by Ralph Lauren and is 100% silk and made by hand.

The tie is in wonderful condition with no stains or pulls on it. It’s 57 inches long and 3 1/2 inches wide.

Awesome 60’s Retro Brown and Gold Necktie from Sage-Allen

This necktie certainly has a lot going on! There’s patterned stripes and a textured background with thin stripes going in the opposite direction. On top of that there are light green highlights in the stripes. It’s a lot to take in, but that’s why I like it! Daddy always said if you wear a tie, you should make a statement with it.

The tie is from the Sage-Allen Men’s Store, which was up in the Hartford, Connecticut area for 104 years before finally closing their doors in 1993. It’s 56 inches long and 3 1/4 inches wide and has no pulls or stains on it. It feels like polyester. The tag is loose on one side, but you’re welcome to tack it back on (I still can’t tread the needle with my paws!)

If you like it, it’s available at my Etsy Shop: Rusty’s Tie Club

When It Rains…

Sometimes you want to wear a tie, even though it’s raining. After all, why should a little tropical storm ruin for personal style? So why not save your good silk ties for a dry day and wear a nice vintage tie that was meant to be machine washable? Isn’t that what synthetic fabrics are for?

Daddy paired up this cool vintage electric blue Superba tie with a black dress shirt that has matching blue check under the collar and on the cuffs when they’re rolled up.

Vintage White Vogue Floral Necktie

I’ll admit that I wasn’t sure what Daddy was talking about when he said it was “Throwback Thursday” but when he came out of the closet I must say I was impressed! My tail started wagging when I saw this bold white tie with a red and black stripe and red and black tropical flowers. He paired it with a nice black dress shirt with french cuffs and gold and red cuff links.

I thought it was funny when Daddy tried to tell Mommy that he was just as “In Vogue” as she was (she’s always stylish!) and then showed her the tag on the tie!

The tie is what I would call a wide tie (it’s at least 4 inches wide) and makes a thick knot with only a Half Windsor knot. It’s 100% polyester. It’s a pretty bold tie from the 60’s.

Vintage Striped Countess Mara

Daddy seems to always go for his striped Countess Mara ties when he’s not sure what to wear. This time it’s a brown, tan, and deep navy striped tie from Eddie Williams Man’s Shop in Arlington, Texas. The tie may date back to the 50s, but believe it or not, The Man’s Shop is still around!

Your Tie and Personality

I was doing a little research on Resisto Ties and came across this gem of a quote from the owner of Resisto Ties:

“If a man’s personality is so bad he can’t express it in a necktie,
I’m not going to worry about him”

– Gene Silberman, Owner of Resisto Ties

I couldn’t agree more, and I’ll be Daddy would agree too!

Vintage Yves Saint Laurent Card Suit Tie

My tail started wagging when I found this gem in Daddy’s closet! It’s a blue tie from Yves Saint Laurent with a pattern of small card suits on it. You know, clubs, spades, diamonds, and of course, hearts… It’s in perfect shape with no tears, holes, or stains on it anywhere. It looks like it has hardly been worn!

It’s a great tie for the card player in your life. Of course, you don’t have to play cards to appreciate it. In fact, I thought up of a few other things that all the suits could mean for me:

  • Clubs – My Tie Club of course!
  • Spade – I’m a pup, and I support taking care of your furry family.
  • Diamonds – Momma sure likes those!
  • Hearts – My family has big hearts for rescuing me, and I love them with all of my heart!

I have it available over in my Etsy Shop. If you like it you might want to try and get it before Daddy steals it back out of my collection!
